The Design 2 Deliver team made another annual trip to the ninth edition of Clerkenwell Design Week to enjoy the fantastic array of installations and product launches. This year, the Clerkenwell showrooms were packed full of the latest flexible working products designed to mimic activity based lifestyles. There were some amazing furniture from the leaders in this space including Allemuir, Connections UK, Frovi and Sven.

The objective of activity based working is to put together a scheme that’s appropriate for the millennial generations, creating a working environment that adapts itself to working trends which has seen a dramatic shift towards being led by changing lifestyles. Gone are the days of sitting hunched at a desk 9-5 crunching numbers, today has seen the rise of the gig economy and with it freelancers and entrepreneurs who prefer remote working, hot-desking and co- working solutions. This means that modern offices have had to adapt accordingly to meet the demands of the 21st century worker.

Watch this space for future projects designed by D2D showcasing some of what we learnt from Clerkenwell and how we adapt these products to suit our projects and environments. D2D plan to embrace this shift in the working life and are excited for the future of activity based working trends, products and designs. Let us lead the way for your next project and design an environment that demonstrates the future trends of workspaces together with activity based working.
